A Complimentary Service Provided by the Iratmentő Foundation
Our Mission
Our Foundation Was Established to Rescue the Hidden Memories of Hungarian History. Our primary goal is to facilitate the transfer of privately held documents and photographs into public collections, ensuring that these valuable items are preserved in appropriate institutions and have a greater chance of surviving for future generations. For those who prefer to keep their ancestors’ relics in their homes, we offer to create secure digital copies. With proper permissions, and in accordance with the owner’s wishes, these can be shared with the public, made accessible for historical research, or simply archived for long-term preservation.
We would like to draw the attention of the dear reader to the fact that we only report on our website about those backups for which the Foundation has the legal right to do so. In the case of documents donated to the Foundation or digital backup copies, we fully take into account the intention of the donor or owner regarding disclosure.
